Christmas cook-a-long

Join our community cookery school this Christmas as we teach you how to make 2 nutritious meals via Zoom. We welcome people of all ages and ability, no previous cooking experience is required. You can take part in this online cookalong for free thanks to our funders, the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.

How it works

1 week before the event we’ll publish the full list of ingredients and utensils that you’ll need to join in from the safety and comfort of your own kitchen on our website. We’ll also email you the relevant Zoom joining info and, if you have any specific dietary requirements, our head chef will be happy to provide details of the necessary adaptations.

Our team in central Manchester will also be batch cooking and distributing the same hot, nutritious meals before, during and after the event – to ensure that vulnerable individuals and communities living in food poverty are supported this winter. We’re aiming to provide 250 meals during the two events planned for w/c 7th December.

Proactively fighting food poverty since 2014

Bounceback Food CIC is a community cookery school that supports people living in food poverty predominantly in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales. We teach people how to cook, donate nutritious items of food to foodbanks from our ‘buy one give one’ foodbank drive at market events and provide catering services in disadvantaged areas.

Since 2014 we have supported foodbank beneficiaries, carers, stroke survivors and people living in sheltered accommodation – working with schools, housing associations and partner charities to deliver social impact. We run a variety of public cookery courses and fundraising events, have published 2 fundraising cookbooks and are now focussed on scaling up our model across the UK!
