Food Talks November
Food Talks November
Join us for this edition of Food Talks where we uncover barriers to sufficient, safe and nutritious food for all. More importantly we will focus on empowering solutions promoting a fair and equal food system.
We will hear from Madeleine Power, a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of York on food inequalities, food insecurity and the political system surrounding both. Kemi Akinola, the CEO and Founder of Be Enriched, will share her experience creating social sanctuaries in communities and using food as a connector and vehicle. Finally, Kate from Cordwainers Grow will talk about her experience working with and equipping young people to understand food advertising.
You can book your tickets here.
There will be a small charge of £5 to contribute towards the cost of the evening. If that cost is likely to be prohibitive to you attending, please e-mail dan@foodethicscouncil.org to ask for a free bursary place.
#FoodTalks is brought to you by a partnership of the Food Ethics Council, Impact Hub Kings Cross, Organico, and London Food Link, part of Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming. At each of our #FoodTalks events, you will hear from expert speakers, get the opportunity to participate in the discussion on the topic of the night, and be able to eat some delicious buffet food.
