‘What Do You Put In Your Mouth?’ Engaging young people with good food
About this event
During lockdown, Hull Food Partnership embraced the challenge and opportunity of the increased need for food support to encourage young people to become more interested in the food they eat. We are delighted to share our learning and tool kit – co-developed with our partners The Warren and Rooted in Hull along with young people themselves over the course of the project.
Our aim was for young people to consider what they put in their mouths, and how this directly impacts their physical and mental health, their families and local communities and the environment as a whole.
The Warren will discuss their work to support young people’s food knowledge through their training kitchen Scran!, in growing partnership with our second guest, the urban farm Rooted in Hull. We’ll look at the efforts to share expertise in ways that can develop and enhance future work with young people, as well as the challenges and successes in delivering joint work in the midst of a pandemic.
There will be a chance to both ask questions and meet the other groups from around the country joining us who are also interested in this work.
Please note that the event presentations and related chat will be recorded on zoom and shared. This will not be true of the breakout rooms and discussion, which can only be accessed through joining the live event. Please get in touch with Andrea Gibbons, agibbons@soilassociation.org with any queries or concerns.
