Sutton Community Farm is a community-owned farm, started in 2010 in response to a community need with the purpose to increase access to fresh, healthy, sustainable food and provide a shared space for people to cultivate skills, get exercise and make new friends. The farm sits on a beautiful 7.1 acre smallholding with views towards the skyline of central London.
The Farm is community led, and creates inclusive, shared spaces for the community to cultivate growing and skills. It offer opportunities for training in sustainable farming practices, supporting land-based employment. It also runs the Sutton People’s Kitchen which provides ‘cook and eat clubs’ to schools in the local area, to increase skills and confidence in the kitchen and awareness of healthy eating.
What we love about it:
A space that is designed by the needs of the local community and the sharing culture it promotes.
