The Community Farm is a social enterprise based in Chew Magna, Somerset.

Established in 2011, The Community Farm is owned and governed by 500 member stakeholders. With a minimum investment of £50, membership allows people to have a say in how the farm is run. They say ‘As an investor, you’ll be part of creating a new approach to sustainable farming; one that can endure and be copied for wider benefit’.

The Farm grows and sells locally-sourced, seasonal produce that’s 100% organic. Environmental sustainability, community engagement and nature-friendly farming are at their heart.

Working with organic producers and local farmers, their box delivery service supplies hundreds of homes locally, with profits from products sold funding learning activities for local children, adults and vulnerable people. They offer volunteers and visitors the chance to ‘Come and see where your food comes from, find out how it is grown, reconnect with the land, learn about good health, the environment and sustainable farming’.

What we love about it:

Blurring the lines between customers, shareholders, community members, farmers. We’re all in this together!
